Molly Ansbro has over eight years of cause marketing and event planning experience. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Communications, Molly went on to work for the Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida, as a part of the Cast Activities, Events & Recognition team. Now living in Charlotte, North Carolina, Molly has worked with other notable organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Simpson Property Group, and Belk, Inc. Corporate.
During her time with Belk, Molly managed the community relations, events, and charitable giving programs for the department store chain – encompassing 293 stores throughout the southeastern United States. She developed and coordinated Belk’s “Project Hometown” initiative, including local store giving, community engagement, and corporate giving to national partners – Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Clubs, Habitat for Humanity, American Heart Association, and Family Promise. Molly also coordinated Belk’s most successful cause marketing campaign for the Salvation Army during the 2019 holiday season, raising over half a million dollars in customer donations in a four-week period. Molly’s love of sports marketing also allowed her to partner with the ACC, SEC, and Charlotte Sports Foundation to create community giveback initiatives for the Belk Bowl and SEC Nation tour in 2018-2019. Among the many notable events Molly managed, her work coordinating a community prom donation event in Columbia, SC garnered national news coverage on MSNBC in 2018.
As the local Make-A-Wish chapter’s Corporate Relations lead, Molly sharpened her fundraising and corporate stewardship skills. She managed a profit line of over $500k annually, including support from corporate donors, foundation grants, and fundraising events like the Wish Ball.
Molly’s experience on both the corporate giving side, as well as the non-profit development side has given her a unique perspective on cause-marketing campaigns and how to build an effective and impactful partnership for both charities and corporations.
