Allison Basco has several years of experience in program and project management, team leadership, community outreach, and training within nonprofit organizations. She developed a passion for mission-driven work during her time as an AmeriCorps Service Member while studying political science at Binghamton University. Her service was focused on the reduction and prevention of chronic health disparities, such as diabetes and obesity, through youth educational programming and community outreach.
After graduating from Binghamton University, Allison began working at American Corporate Partners (ACP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting post-9/11 veterans in their transition from the armed services to the civilian workforce through mentoring, career counseling, and networking opportunities. During her years at ACP, Allison’s responsibilities grew, particularly in the areas of training, program evaluation and improvement, and team leadership. She eventually managed the organization’s Mentoring Program – ACP’s primary service offering – which included leading an internal staff of 35 and approximately 3,200 mentorships, as well as 700+ in-process veteran and mentor participants.
Allison then moved on to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation where she supported the national peer-to-peer fundraising department. She provided project management on initiatives across business areas – fundraising, business development, marketing, and education/advocacy – to inform senior leadership strategies. Allison also served a key role in the swift transition of 89 local Take Steps walks, into one fully virtual national event in the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to her professional roles, Allison’s volunteer experience spans local civics and government, community building, national political campaigns, and organizations addressing hunger and food insecurity.
