Account Director
Holly Thomas recently served as Vice President of Corporate Alliances for Make-A-Wish America. In this role, Holly led the national effort for acquiring, growing and retaining corporate fundraising relationships that drove millions in cash and in-kind revenue to help grant wishes.
Prior to joining Make-A-Wish America, Holly was formerly Group Vice President of Public Relations, Cause Marketing, Special Events and Tourism Marketing for Macy’s. Based in New York City, she joined the legendary brand in 2006 as Director of Public Relations for Macy’s Corporate Marketing. In her various roles with the company, she led the brand communications team, driving strategy and media coverage for the company’s consumer initiatives; oversaw cause marketing, raising an average of $28 million annually for charities nationwide; managed special events, responsible for executing more than 2,000 in-store events each year; and led tourism marketing, helping to build global customer acquisition through brand awareness and tourism programming.
During her career with Macy’s, Holly launched major brands (Martha Stewart Collection, Material Girl, Love Bravery by Lady Gaga and Elton John, Ryan Seacrest, Thalia, American Express Plenti) and the company’s most admired cause initiatives (Believe, Come Together, American Icons), celebrated the company’s 150th birthday, and oversaw communications and press efforts for iconic events including the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks.
Prior to joining Macy’s, Holly worked as a senior account executive at advertising and public relations agency, RDW Group, based in Providence, Rhode Island. In this position, she had the opportunity to grow her experience to include advertising, media planning and strategy for top agency accounts.
Holly launched her career at Cleveland-based PR Partners, where she supported the agency’s signature clients – including Federated Department Stores (now Macy’s, Inc.), KeyBank, The Cleveland Foundation, Honeywell and Alcan Aluminum.
Holly is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Kent State University. She currently resides in Ohio.
