As we enter the critical fourth quarter of 2015, many nonprofit organizations plan to integrate Giving Tuesday into their year-end fundraising strategy. Now in its fourth year, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday on December 1st.
The Giving Tuesday movement–organized around the hashtag #GivingTuesday–has seen significant growth year over year. According to one report cited in The Chronicle of Philanthropy, nonprofits raised almost $46 million last year, more than double the amount raised in the event’s first year of 2012. As Giving Tuesday grows in name recognition and awareness, nonprofits are becoming more savvy about how to promote their participation to individual donors. We’ve also seen a rise in the number of resources from those of us serving the cause industry; you’ll find easy links to a few of those resources below. However, we noticed a gap in informational resources for corporations wanting to join the Giving Tuesday movement to make the greatest impact on the cause they support.
That’s why we developed For Momentum’s new Giving Tuesday E-book, Corporate Partners, Activate! This resource, designed for corporate and nonprofit professionals, is now available for free on our website. Corporate partners who want to help their cause partners on Giving Tuesday will find a simple two-page planner for activation and sharing invaluable communication reach and assets. And nonprofit development staff can download this tool and share it with their corporate partners. Leveraging the corporate partners’ audiences will dramatically expand your campaign’s reach. With just nine weeks left before this annual day of giving, we want it to be as easy as possible for nonprofits and their corporate allies to activate! Click here to register for your free Giving Tuesday E-book.
