As a part of the conversation about racism, injustice, and inequality, #BlackOutTuesday encouraged social media users to take a pause from their normal activity and, instead, amplify the voices that need to be heard.
In our typical blog posts, you find For Momentum highlighting meaningful cause and social impact partnerships addressing critical social needs or issues. And, I’m sure we will write about some of that content soon. Thankfully, it looks like many companies are stepping up to support nonprofits doing the critical work of justice and reconciliation so there will be much to talk about.
However, in the meantime I want to pause. I want to amplify. I want to address the deeply saddening death of George Floyd and send my condolences to his family and loved ones. I want to say that For Momentum stands behind these social justice efforts for equality and we believe wholeheartedly that Black lives matter. We see you and we stand with you.
So after #BlackOutTuesday, now what? It’s time to listen, inform ourselves and act. I want to amplify voices I’ve seen from my own efforts of listening and share resources below for taking meaningful action. I hope you will find them helpful too.
