QVC SUPER SATURDAY CAUSE MARKETING FUNDRAISER
In support of the fight against ovarian cancer, QVC hosts an annual cause marketing fundraising campaign called Super Saturday that invites top brand names and companies to donate high-quality accessories, beauty, jewelry, and home goods at wholesale cost. This year, merchandise will be sold during the Super Saturday Live event both on QVC’s broadcast and QVC.com from 2-4:00pm on “Super Saturday” – Saturday, July 28th AND there is a Pinterest fundraising/marketing component.
There are 30+ fashion industry corporate sponsors participating at various levels. High profile celebrity supporters include Kelly Rippa, Kim Kardashian, Lara Spencer. The net proceeds from the Super Saturday event will be donated to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) to advance ovarian cancer research, raise awareness of the disease, and eventually find a cure. NEW IN 2012: QVC HAS LAUNCHED A PINTEREST FUNDRAISING COMPONENT
QVC will donate 50¢ to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, up to $5,000, each time it’s Super Saturday Board message pins are repinned. [Hmmm…a $5,000 maximum donation seems pretty darn low to me considering the players involved. Perhaps they can have a pass this time though since this could be considered a pilot program and it is also tied to a much larger fundraising effort. Kudos for being clear and transparent about the details of the Pinning With A Purpose fundraiser.]
