Each April, For Momentum client Habitat for Humanity International shines a light on the critical issue of affordable housing with their signature multi-partner cause campaign, Home is the Key. Since its inception in 2017, impressive results include raising millions of unrestricted dollars and engaging tens of thousands of consumers and employees in their core mission and belief that everyone deserves a safe place to call home. They do this by connecting people, helping neighbors and working alongside families in virtually every US zip code and in over 70 countries around the world.
Today, home means more than it ever has before. Shelter in place leaves all of us experiencing our homes through different lenses: home is the classroom, the office, and, for many of us, the place where we feel most safe.
Habitat is working hard to display the leadership and social responsibility they are known for around the globe and is planning to continue to build homes, communities and hope for families. To that end, Habitat for Humanity needs support now more than ever to continue investment in our shared humanity.
In response to COVID19, the timing and content of this year’s campaign has been adjusted. Originally planned for April 1-30, the award-winning Home is the Key campaign will be concentrated to the April 6–11 timeframe. Corporate partners include State Farm, U.S. Bank Foundation and At Home.
Each partner is committed to do what they can to help families gain strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. State Farm, a company that has supported Habitat’s mission for over 25 years, will engage its network of 58,000 employees and nearly 19,000 agents to amplify opportunities to support Habitat. U.S. Bank has supported local Habitat organizations across the country for over 30 years. They are expanding that support by participating in Home is the Key. At Home will once again return as a major brand partner to support Habitat during its fourth annual Home is the Key campaign. HGTV and iHeart Media are also partnering with Habitat to amplify key messages through social media, digital, print and radio.
Earlier this year, Habitat for Humanity had been named the recipient of the 2020 Golden Halo Award – Non-Profit of the Year. This prestigious recognition awarded by Engage for Good, is the highest honor for nonprofits who, alongside corporate partners, have a profound and meaningful impact on society. Home is the Key is also a Social Good Campaign Finalist in the annual Shorty Awards, which is hosting its first ever digital ceremony Sunday, May 3. PRNEWS annual CSR & Nonprofit Awards also awarded Habitat for the 2019 Home is the Key campaign.
Recent events have only emphasized how a safe and secure home can make all the difference. Owning a Habitat home offers hope for more families every day. Please join the campaign by sharing your support using #HomeIsTheKey on social media and visiting habitat.org/homeisthekey.
