For the past two years, For Momentum has been honored to sponsor the Best of the Best Halo award. This year’s winner was presented at the annual Engage For Good (EFG) conference which took place virtually May 25–27, 2021. From over 100 applications, judges selected an inspiring high-impact partnership, Leveraging AI To Save Young LGBTQ Lives: The Trevor Project and Google, as the overall winner of the Best of the Best Halo award. I was honored to present the award to representatives of the partnership who were integral to this collaboration which aligned cause and corporate goals so successfully:
- Shira Kogan, Director of Corporate Development, The Trevor Project
- Jen Carter, Head of Tech & Volunteering, Google.org
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) youth.
Google provided technology to help The Trevor Project instantly analyze crisis texts and chats from LGBTQ youth in order to triage those at the highest risk of suicide. With AI technology, The Trevor Project was able to serve three times more imminent risk youths than they were before. What’s more, the partnership transformed the technology department at The Trevor Project, growing it from one resource to more than 20 and integrating the latest technologies into all aspects of programs.
Google benefited from the partnership through deep employee engagement and positive sentiment. They also came away with a robust case study they could use to attract more nonprofit collaborations and high-profile press on the uniquely Google impact of the partnership.
You’ll have a chance to learn more about this incredible cause partnership in an upcoming Webinar hosted by EFG and sponsored by For Momentum. It’s free to attend, but space is limited. Register now.
